If you ever wondered whose notes propel the FIAT advert on British television, you have to look no further than the discography and career of Giovanni Allevi, one of Italy’s best loved pianists/composers.

With a devoted following waiting with bated breath for every new CD and concert, Giovanni Allevi is, in the opinion of the leading Italian newspaper La Repubblica
….a pianist without a label…the most difficult to classify the genre of. The easiest thing is just to remain enthralled by his fiery style, with its torrential and refined connotations on the road to final maturation. Giovanni Allevi is a musician full of inventiveness and daring, with a bright future at the keyboard to be explored: above all, on the stage, in concert, he reveals the painstaking application of his sonic research and the pursuit of technical perfection and depth … (Enzo Gentile)

Born April 9, 1969 in Ascoli Piceno, the son of musical parents, he spent his childhood completely immersed in classical music, beginning a solitary journey to discover the fundamental elements of musical language: scales, intervals, chords.
Among the family vinyls he discovers Puccini’s “Turandot”: he will listen to it in its entirity every day for the following six years.
He studied piano at the Istituto Musicale “G. Spontini “in Ascoli Piceno with Professor Anna Maria Bucci 21 years and graduated with honors from the Conservatory” F. Vlach “in Perugia.
Giovanni wrote many compositions, but he kept them in a drawer, and began an intense activity as a concert pianist in Italy.

In the meantime he attended the course on “Bio-Music and Music Therapy” by Professor Mario Corradini, which deepened his understanding of the great power that music has to free pent up feelings and to evoke images, emotions and memories.

Giovanni proves to be a talented musician and a talented composer of contemporary classical music: his debut album is widely acclaimed. The Japanese musician Nanae Mimura, one of the greatest interpreters of contemporary marimba, in a recital at Carnegie Hall in New York performs some compositions of the Allevi’s debut album.

In October 2003, Giovanni released her second solo piano album entitled “COMPOSITIONS” (Soleluna / Edel), which sharply outlined the essential features of his compositional.
Meanwhile his concerts in Italy attracted more and more attention and enthusiasm, but the consecration of his stature in the international arena as a composer came from the Baltimore Opera House’s comission of the reworking of the recitatives of “Carmen” by Bizet, one of operas most popular and well known by audiences around the world.

In 2004, Giovanni made his debut as a composer, performing in Hong Kong, before an international audience in his first overseas concert, which ran a program entirely of his own compositions gaining immediate success.
He moved to New York, where he began composing new songs that were collected on his third solo piano album, “NO CONCEPTwhich was follwed by “JOY” (Bulletin /-Sony BMG Ricordi) in 2006
October 2010 saw the start of the ‘”ALIEN WORLD TOUR” from’ El Rey Theater in Los Angeles.
